Voorstellen calendar design promotion for Claxton Printing Co. wins
a national Award of Merit from the Printing Industries of America

Sewickley, PA — June 14, 2013 — The Printing Industries of America (PIA) today announced that the self-promotional calendar developed, written, and designed by Voorstellen for Claxton Printing has won their National Award of Merit.

The sophisticated, 8-color, spiral-bound calendar, themed “Everyday’s a Holiday” is designed using “year of the rabbit” visuals employing numerous production techniques and values including letterpress, die-cutting, foil stamping, embossing/debossing, gatefolding, thermography, metallic/ poster inks, and several specialty papers. The monthly calendar concept includes 24 gift cards with coordinating envelopes that promote Claxton’s letterpress and specialty bindery and tactile printing services.

The calendar previously won a Top Gold Award with the Georgia PIA where judge Glenn Petry stated, “Having judged more than 100 printing competitions, I must say that I have never seen a promotional piece that compares to this. Magnificent! You must see it! I was a buyer for 25 years, and I would have treasured having a resource with this talent!”

Voorstellen designed, selected papers and production techniques, and oversaw printing of all calendar components over a 6-month period.
