Voorstellen-designed promotion for Claxton Printing wins highest honor in the industry’s most prestigious international competition

Sewickley, PA — July 14, 2015 — The Printing Industries of America (PIA), the world’s largest graphic arts trade association, today announced winners of the 66th Annual 2015 Premier Print Awards recognizing the very best in print media.

Claxton Printing Company, Atlanta, GA, won the Best of Category honor for self-promotion for its brochure, A Peach of a Printer. Singled out from over 2,400 entries from more than eight countries, Claxton received the prestigious “Benny” for the first time in its 68-year history.

“It’s not often that you define printing in terms of powerful and bold”, said this year’s Premier Print Awards jury. “We had our work cut out for us this year and our decisions were difficult.” Michael Makin, president and CEO of PIA agrees. “Despite fierce competition, Claxton Printing, through dedicated craftsmanship, produced a piece worthy of a Benny.”

Conceptualized, written, and designed by Voorstellen for Claxton, the brochure communicates the strategic use of “tactile marketing” to Claxton’s clients and prospects using a variety of coated and uncoated textured papers; offset, letterpress, and digital printing; foil stamping; die cutting; embossing; debossing; dull and gloss varnishes; UV textured coatings; special metallic and fluorescent inks; French folding; and screw and post bindings.

“Beyond exceptional design and engaging copy, Voorstellen’s tireless efforts to help keep our production team focused on delivering the highest level of quality was most impressive,” said Jim Claxton, president of Claxton Printing Company. “It’s the best of both worlds to have a talented designer with Gary Voreis’ marketing and copywriting skills follow a project of this caliber through production. Given the ubiquitous blandness of digital marketing, Gary has a major passion for tactile marketing and that passion is most evident in A Peach of a Printer.”
